This qualification is recognised by The Institution of Occupational Health (IOSH) as a route to membership.National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ)were work-based awards in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that are achieved through assessment and training. The regulatory framework supporting NVQs was withdrawn in 2015 and replaced by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), although the term “NVQ” may be used in RQF qualifications if they “are based on recognized occupational standards, work-based and/or simulated work-based assessment and where they confer occupational competence”.To achieve an NVQCertificate, candidates had to prove that they had the ability (competence) to carry out their job to the required standard.The ProQual Health and Safety candidate will report to, or be part of, the senior management team or have management support and they will be aware of cost implications and budgetary controls and maybe budget holders before commencing online Health and Safety courses. To achieve the full NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice qualification a candidate must demonstrate their competency, knowledge and understanding by completing the Ten mandatory units. This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Health and Safety sector through our Distance Learning Portal meaning you can earn your qualification in level 6 Health and Safety online.To achieve this full Level 6 NVQ health and safety you must demonstrate your competency, knowledge and understanding by completing the ten mandatory units. Most importantly this qualification allows you to learn, develop and practice skills required for employment and/or career progression at your own pace. Candidates can attain certification within three months of beginning the health and safety NVQ, or they can spread the overall qualification over a two-year period, so depending on their needs, time and learning abilities. Your portfolio will consist of your work based product evidence, reflective accounts and knowledge tasks. Once your assessor is satisfied as to your competency, the work is forwarded to an internal assessor who will confirm that the qualification can be appropriately awarded. This is to prevent delays obtaining your certificate from the Awarding Body.
