SKILL PROFICIENCY DETAILS:
On successful completion of this course, the trainee should be able to: -
1. Work out qualities of various items of works from working drawings.
2. Prepare material statement and analysis of rates for different item of works.
3. Prepare detailed estimates for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
4. Prepare detailed estimates of a water supply and sewerage works.
5. Prepare detailed estimates for roads.
6. Prepare detailed estimates of R.C.C Bridge & culverts.
7. Prepare bill of quantities for buildings / civil works
8. Prepare contract documents.
9. Access and recommend payment to contractor during construction.
10. Use computer software in estimating quantities, cost and planning of project.
11. Perform property valuation & rent calculation
In this course you will learn about general principles of quantity and cost in civil works. You will also learn relevant terminologies, how to record quantities of items from given drawings, describe components of buildings and engineering structures, and describe standard specifications of each item of works. You will also be taught how to prepare material statements and analyses of rates for major item of works, explain how to determine quantity of earthwork for road construction, and how to execute the plan. The course will also teach you how to evaluate property and calculate rents.
